Mr. Van R. Strickland, 90, of State Line, MS passed from this life Sunday, February 2, 2025, at Pine View Health and Rehabilitation in Waynesboro, MS. He was born in State Line, MS on Saturday, May 26, 1934, to the late Rena and Clarence Strickland. He was a member of First Baptist Church of State Line. He retired as a Timber Estimator for Scott Paper Company.

Mr. Strickland is preceded in death by his wife, Earline Strickland; parents, Rena and Clarence Strickland; son, Van Earl Strickland; Son-In-Law, Joe Henry "Jaybird" Crager; brother, Leon Strickland; five sisters, Emma Jean Smith, Helen Williams, Gracie Lee Smith, Geraldine Dearman, and Dorothy McInnis; grandson, John Wesley Dyess. He is survived by two sons, Leon Strickland (Glenda) of Buckatunna, MS and Dwayne Strickland (Krystal) of Fernley, NV; three daughters, Patricia Crager of State Line, MS, Anita J. Davis (Dee) of Waynesboro, MS, and Rhonda Strickland of Millry, AL; two brothers, Vardaman Strickland of Avery, MS and C. V. Strickland of State Line, MS; two sisters, Jeanette Williams, and Juanita Hillman, both of Neeley, MS; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Visitation for Mr. Strickland will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, February 6, 2025, at Freeman Funeral Home in Waynesboro, MS with Rev. Michael Stevenson officiating. Interment will be in Johnson Creek Cemetery in State Line, MS.
