Sis. Berniece Mills, 86, of Clara, MS passed from this life Friday, December 27, 2024, at Wayne General Hospital in Waynesboro, MS surrounded by her loving family. She was born in George County, MS on Saturday, June 25, 1938, to the late Millard T. and Virgie Howell. She was a member of Clara First Church of God. Sis. Mills will always be remembered as supporting her husband's ministry for over 63 years. She had many ministries of her own including teaching Sunday school, children's church and chaperoning and actively participating in youth camps. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and spending time with her family. Sis. Mills is preceded in death by her husband, Rev. William R. Mills; parents, Millard T., Virgie, and Kathleen Howell; son, Chris Mills; granddaughter, Jennifer Romijn; two brothers, Norman Cedrick Howell and Kenneth Howell; sister, Carolyn Davis. She is survived by two daughters, Sharry Muscat (Vince) and Cecelia Mills; two sons, Freddie Mills (Carla) and Marlon Walley (Imogene), all of Clara, MS; four grandchildren, Chris Muscat (Christina), Lakisha West (Robert), Brandi Freeman (Dustin), and Brianna Smith (Kaleb); 11 great grandchildren, Alyssa, Addison, Will, Hannah, Nick, Ryan, Xander, Sutton, Anna-Claire, Tanner, and  Adeline; four sisters, Glenda Faye Steede (C.G.), Cindy Hodges, Becky Howell (Ronnie), and Lisa Cochran (Mike), all of Lucedale, MS; a host of nieces and nephews. Visitation for Sis. Mills will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Thursday, January 2, 2025, at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS 39367. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, January 3, 2025, at Clara First Church of God, 214 Big Creek Road, Waynesboro, MS with Rev. Chris Cooper, Rev. Jim Koen, and Dr. Steve Smith officiating. Interment will be in White House Cemetery in Waynesboro, MS.
