Mr. Sim Collins Holifield, Sr., 85, of Buckatunna, MS passed from this life Sunday, March 9, 2025, at Wayne General Hospital in Waynesboro, MS. He was born in Wayne County, MS on Sunday, April 23, 1939, to the late Lillie and Jim Holifield. He was a member of Red Creek Church of God. He worked as a local Business Owner. Mr. Holifield is preceded in death by his parents, Lillie and Jim Holifield; son, Sim Collins Holifield, Jr.; daughter, Barbara Holifield; 6 brothers and 4 sisters. He is survived by his wife, Lana Holifield of Buckatunna, MS; son, Sammy Holifield; two stepdaughters, Katye Lowe (Bibb) of Helena, AL and Kim Walley of State Line, MS; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren. Visitation for Mr. Holifield will be held from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at Freeman Funeral Home in Waynesboro, MS with Rev. Reggie Manning officiating. Interment will be in Waynesboro Cemetery in Waynesboro, MS.
