Mrs. Sherry Lynn Bishop, 68, of Buckatunna, MS passed from this life Monday, May 25, 2026, at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, MS. She was born in Waynesboro, MS on Tuesday, October 22, 1957, to the late Edward E. and Wynona D. Jordan. She worked as a self-employed caregiver.

   Mrs. Bishop is preceded in death by her parents, Edward E. and Wynona D. Jordan; two brothers, Dennis Jordan and Darrel Jordan. She is survived by her husband, David Lynn Bishop of Buckatunna, MS; two sons, Kendall McIlwain (April) of Toomsuba, MS and Wendall McIlwain (Stacey) of State Line, MS; daughter, Tasha Stafford (Donald Ray) of Gilbertown, AL; two brothers, Robert Jordan (Janice) and Carl Jordan (Karen), all of State Line, MS; two sisters, Sandra Waller (Gary) of Jackson, AL and Susan Scarbrough (Randy) of Millry, AL; 8 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews.

   Visitation for Mrs. Bishop will be held from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Friday, May 29, 2026, at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, May 29, 2026, at Freeman Funeral Home in Waynesboro, MS with Rev. John Brown and Rev. Bryan Jordan officiating. Interment will be in Zion Rest Cemetery in Buckatunna, MS.
