Mrs. Sarah V. McLain Hendry, better known to most as "Teenie," passed from this life Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at her home in the Strengthford Community of Wayne County, MS, at the age of 86. She was born on April 10, 1939, to Ellis and Clyda Mae Overstreet McLain. Mrs. Hendry was a loving wife to her husband of 67 years, Robert Floyd "Bob" Hendry. She was a mother who dearly loved her children, grandchildren, great- and great-great grandchildren. She was like a second mother and grandmother to her nieces and nephews and their children. She was happiest when she was surrounded by all "her babies." Mrs. Hendry is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two daughters, Elaine Irwin and Deborah Straub. She is survived by two sons, Ronny Hendry (Sheila) of Waynesboro, MS, and Patrick Hendry (Tammy) of Ovett, MS; a Son-In-Law, Ron Irwin of Cleveland, TN; three sisters; nine grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren. A private memorial service will be held at a future date.
