Mrs. Ruth Nicholson Odom, 88, of Waynesboro, MS passed from this life Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at Southern Living Specialty Care Residency in Waynesboro. She was born in Wayne County, MS on Wednesday, May 15, 1935 to George Washington Nicholson and Queen Hester Nicholson. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She worked as a Bookkeeper for Wayne County Circuit Clerks Office. Mrs. Ruth is preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie Odom; father, George Washington Nicholson; mother, Queen Hester Nicholson; daughter, Kay Odom; daughter-in-law, Lesia Odom. She is survived by her son, Kenny Odom, Waynesboro, MS; two granddaughters, Katie Odom Johnson (Daniel), Emily Odom Wood (Marshall), all of Waynesboro, MS; great grandson, Wyatt Cole Johnson; great granddaughter, Annie Ruth Wood; sister, Avis Brownlee, Sandhill, MS; several nieces and nephews; special family friends, Jeanne Peter, William and Tabitha Peter. Visitation for Mrs. Ruth will be held from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 11, 2024 at Calvary Baptist Church, Waynesboro, MS. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, May 11, 2024 at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Harris officiating. Interment will be in New Hope Cemetery in Waynesboro, MS. Pallbearers are Robert Coxwell, Tony Bishop, Bill Baker, Eddie Chancey, Chuck Hardee, Matthew Bennett. Honorary Pallbearers are Wayne Allen, Mark Gordon. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The Gideons International or the Baptist Children's Home.
