Mr. Roy Lee Shoemaker, 97, of Waynesboro, MS passed from this life Friday, August 13, 2021 at Wayne General Hospital. He was born in Piave, MS on Wednesday, July 9, 1924 to Con Shoemaker and Florence Shoemaker. He was a member of Harvest Temple Church of God. He was retired from the Oil Field as a Machine Operator with B. A. Jones Construction. Mr. Shoemaker is preceded in death by his wife, Roberta Shoemaker; father, Con Shoemaker and mother, Florence Shoemaker; son, Lee Roy Shoemaker; grandson, Virgil Nicholson. He is survived by his son, Johnny Shoemaker (Debbie), Waynesboro, MS; two daughters, Barbara Broadway, Shirley Ann Hazelwood, both of Waynesboro, MS; 8 Grandchildren and 15 Great Grandchildren. Visitation for Mr. Shoemaker will be held from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Monday, August 16, 2021 at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS. Funeral Services will follow at 11:00 AM Monday, August 16, 2021 at Freeman Funeral Home with Rev. Edward Bean and Rev. Pettis Brewer officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Waynesboro, MS.
