Reverend Douglas White, 87, went to be with the Lord on July 26 in Waynesboro, MS. He was born in McCullough, AL on January 8, 1936 to Harrison and Miriam White.

He surrendered his life to Ministry as a teenager and served in mission churches while in High School and College. He was in the first graduating class of Sanford University. He then attended New Orleans Seminary. He went on to Pastor at: Huxford Baptist Church, Huxford, AL; North Mobile Baptist Church, Chickasaw, AL; Ridgecrest Baptist Church, Tuscaloosa, AL;Siloam Baptist Church, Marion, AL; First Baptist Church, Union, MS; Airport Boulevard Baptist Church, Mobile, AL; and First Baptist Church, Waynesboro, MS. He retired from full time ministry in 1998. He went on to serve as interim pastor at Salem Baptist Church in Collins, MS and Big Creek Baptist Church in Clara, MS. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed playing golf, watching Alabama Football and cutting his yard. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Waynesboro, MS.

Brother Doug is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Emma Patricia White; daughter, Lisa Holderfield of Waynesboro, MS; son, Tony White (Leslie) of Saraland, AL; daughter, Paula Revette (Patrick) of Waynesboro, MS; sister, Shirley Tew (Delmer) of Chatom; Eight grandchildren: Drew Holderfield (Kelly) of Auburn, AL; Kendall Holderfield (Alaina) of Auburn, AL; Tyler White of Saraland, AL; Thomas White of Saraland, AL; Emily Revette Gunn (Chandler) of State Line, MS; Erin Revette of Waynesboro, MS; Leah White of Saraland, AL; Ella Revette of Waynesboro, MS; two great grandsons, Jake Holderfield and Hudson Holderfield both of Auburn, AL; two great granddaughters coming in August; many cousins, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and an infant son, Paul Dewayne.

Visitation for Bro. Doug will be held from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, Saturday, July 29, 2023 at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS. Funeral Services will follow at 12:00 PM Saturday, July 29, 2023 with Dr. Steve Smith and Dr. DeJuan Walley officiating. Interment will be in Serenity Gardens Cemetery, Waynesboro, MS. Pallbearers are Drew Holderfield, Kendall Holderfield, Tyler White, Thomas White, Chandler Gunn, Billy Bynum.
