Mr. Raymond "Ray" Smith, 84, of Laton Hill, AL passed from this life Saturday, August 3, 2024, at Washington County Nursing Home in Chatom, AL. He was born in State Line, MS on Friday, September 22, 1939, to the late Walter and Maggie Smith. He was a member of Waynesboro Church of Christ. He retired as a Logger at C. E. Harold Company.

Mr. Smith is preceded in death by his wife, Sue Smith; parents, Walter and Maggie Smith; son, Ricky Ray Smith; brothers and sisters, Betty Jane Whatley, Mack Chester Smith, Daniel Lee Smith, Alice Simpson, Dorothy Trimble, Paul Smith, and George Smith. He is survived by two sons, Mark Dewayne Smith (Tina), Ronnie Clay Smith (Deb), both of Laton Hill, AL; three daughters, Glenda Ann Oates of Tibbie, AL, Brenda Carol Oates (Mike) of Millry, AL, Jennie Maureen Smith Pippens (Adam) of Laurel, MS; two sisters, Louise Loper of Fairhope, AL, Bernice Hagan of Buckatunna, MS; brother, Walter Smith, Jr. (Sally) of Citronelle, AL; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Visitation for Mr. Smith will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at Pine Tree Holiness Church in Millry, AL. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at Pine Tree Holiness Church in Millry, AL with Rev. Mike Loper officiating. Interment will be in Pine Tree Cemetery in Millry, AL.
