Mr. Pruett "R. P." Hollingshead, 89, of Waynesboro, MS passed from this life Friday, January 5, 2024, at Wayne General Hospital in Waynesboro, MS. He was born in Wayne County, MS on Thursday, December 13, 1934, to the late Grover and Nola Mae Hollingshead. He was a member of Progress Assembly of God Church. He retired from the oil field and later with Wayne County as a truck driver.

Mr. Hollingshead is preceded in death by his parents, Grover and Nola Mae Hollingshead; grandson, Adam McInnis; three brothers, Truett Hollingshead, Carlis Hollingshead, Jefferson Hollingshead; seven sisters, Ena Taylor, Lena Smith, Ruth Williams, Edith Taylor, Fannie Taylor, Priscella Hollingshead, Nola Grace Overstreet. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Vera Hollingshead; daughter, Denise McInnis (Elgin); grandson, Eric McInnis, all of Waynesboro, MS; a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Mr. Hollingshead will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Saturday, January 6, 2024, at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Sunday, January 7, 2024, at Freeman Funeral Home in Waynesboro, MS with Rev. John Brown and Rev. Don Fulmer officiating. Interment will be in Serenity Gardens Cemetery in Waynesboro, MS.
