(Fitzgerald) Trigg
December 20, 1935 – November 15, 2025
Mrs. Peggy F. Trigg, 89, of Clara, MS passed peacefully with her children and friends by her side Saturday, November 15, 2025, at Wayne General Hospital in Waynesboro, MS. She was born in Waynesboro, MS on Friday, December 20, 1935, to the late Wiley and Nettie McRae Fitzgerald. She was a member of Clara United Methodist Church. She retired as a Program Technician for the Department of Agriculture after 42 years of service. She will be remembered for playing the piano for homecomings at the Philadelphus Presbyterian Church for decades and Clara United Methodist Church. She was known for her famous caramel cake.
Mrs. Peggy is preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Norman Trigg, Jr.; parents, Wiley and Nettie McRae Fitzgerald. She is survived by four children, Candis Sue Trigg of Clara, MS, Stan Trigg of Waynesboro, MS, Lisa Trigg of Clara, MS, and Christi Trigg Crossley (Phillip) of Vernon, AL; two additional loved as children, Keith Winters of Waynesboro, MS and Kimberly Hollinghead of Lauderdale, MS; brother, Robert Mac Fitzgerald of Monroe, LA.
Visitation for Mrs. Peggy will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Monday, November 17, 2025, at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at Freeman Funeral Home in Waynesboro, MS with Rev. Jesse Long, III, Rev. Philip McRae, and Rev. Robert McRae officiating. Interment will be in White House Cemetery in Waynesboro, MS. Pallbearers are Scott Griffith, Joe McFadden, Alton Mills, Anthony McRae, Tommy McRae, and Noel McRae. Honorary Pallbearers are Jack McRae and Sam McRae.
The family would like to thank the staff of Southern Living and the doctors and nurses of Wayne General Hospital. Special thanks to sitters Irene Cherry and Diane Davis.
