Mrs. Pearl Gant, 91, of Millry, AL passed from this life Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at Brookwood Villa Personal Care Home in Waynesboro, MS. She was born in Aquilla, AL on Sunday, March 19, 1933, to the late George O. and Vernelle (Britton) Tew. She leaves behind a legacy of love and generosity that will forever be cherished. Mrs. Pearl was a faithful and dedicated member of North Oak Grove Baptist Church. She selflessly served her community and spread kindness wherever she went. She loved her family and community and was always willing to lend a helping hand to others in need. Her gentle kindness, infectious smile, and contagious laugh illuminated the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know her. Mrs. Pearl is preceded in death by her husband, Earnest "Sonny" Gant; parents, George O. and Vernelle Tew; son, David R. Gant; four brothers, George O. Tew, Jr., Prentis A. Tew, Clatis Tew, Harold Ray Tew; two sisters, Maxine Brown, LaFaye "Faye" Hester. She is survived by her two sons, Wayne Gant (Regina), Billy R. Gant (Connie), both of Millry, AL; Daughter-In-Law, Sherry Hoffman (Marty) of Gulf Shores, AL; two brothers, Delmar Tew of Chatom, AL, Walter Tew (Peggy) of Millry, AL; nine grandchildren, Donald Wayne Gant, Jr. (Valeri), Joseph Gant (Lene), Rachel Gant, Heather Elizabeth Gant, Hillary Rachelle Cooley (Jason), Haley Lauren Hill (Joseph), David Randall Gant, Jr. (Beate), Eric Gant (Kayla), Jacob Hoffman; 18 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild. Visitation for Mrs. Pearl will be held from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Saturday, June 1, 2024, at North Oak Grove Baptist Church in Millry, AL. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, June 1, 2024, at North Oak Grove Baptist Church in Millry, AL with Rev. Howard Gaston officiating. Interment will be in North Oak Grove Cemetery in Washington County, AL.
