Mrs. Nita M. Johnson, 74, of Waynesboro, MS passed from this life Thursday, January 23, 2025, at Wayne General Hospital in Waynesboro, MS. She was born in American Samoa, on Thursday, March 9, 1950, to the late Edward Moselle Moore and Margarett Mae Nance. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. She retired as an LPN at Pine View Health and Rehabilitation.

Mrs. Johnson is preceded in death by her husband, James E. Johnson; mother, Margarett Mae Nance; father, Edward Moselle Moore; brother, Earl Moore. She is survived by two sons, Ernest E. Johnson, and Andrew L. Johnson (Chasity), both of Waynesboro, MS; daughter, Nita Jeanette Johnson of Prairieville, LA; brother, Donald Lee Moore of Seattle, WA; ten grandchildren, Abbigail, Ashlyn, Drake, William, Zechariah, Christian, Katie, Hunter, Devin, and Kacie; five great grandchildren, Sophia, Raelynn, Emery, Aria Kate, and Addison.

Visitation for Mrs. Johnson will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Saturday, January 25, 2025, at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, January 26, 2025, at Liberty Baptist Church in Waynesboro, MS with Rev. Phillip Gandy officiating. Interment will be in Liberty Cemetery in Waynesboro, MS.
