Mr. Nelson "Brown" Bodie, 86, of Waynesboro, MS passed from this life Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Waynesboro, MS on Sunday, February 3, 1935 to Berry Nelson Bodie and Hattie Bell Bodie. He worked in maintenance for the Mississippi Department of Transportation. Mr. Bodie is preceded in death by his wife, Nona Elizabeth Bodie; father, Berry Nelson Bodie; mother, Hattie Bell Bodie; two brothers, Wendall Bodie, Willie Bodie; three sisters, Marie Boykin, Anna Faye Bodie, Ruby Lee Waller. He is survived by his two daughters, Eudocia Arnold (Jody), Waynesboro, MS, Angela Barlow (George), Laurel, MS; son, William Bodie, Mississippi; brother, Harvey Gene Bodie, Hattiesburg, MS; sister, Gertie Bell Butler, Saraland, AL; ten grandchildren, Makayla "Red" Arnold, Kateline "Kate" Arnold, Cole Barlow (Kaitlyn), Cory Barlow, Sommer Barlow, Lydia Friend, Amber Bodie, Ethan Bodie, Matthew West,  Candy Pitts; three great grandchildren, Brooklyn West, Jackson West, Tyler Williamson. Visitation for Mr. Bodie will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at Freeman Funeral Home in Waynesboro, MS with Rev. Marvin Griffin officiating. Interment will be in Boyles Chapel Cemetery in Waynesboro, MS.
