Nazil Carr Henderson, a native of Buckatunna, MS, and resident of Central, LA, went home to be with the Lord on February 27, 2023, at age 87, surrounded by her loved ones.

Nazil was the beloved wife of the late Fred Martin "F.M." Henderson for almost 50 years.

She was a loving mother; survived by her children, Glennece Henderson McRight and Bill Henderson (wife, Kim), and Rhonda Hanson. She was a devoted grandmother to Kelly Daigle (husband, Troy), Lacey McRight Chataignier (husband, Josh), Brad Jarrell, Casey Morin (husband, Marcos), George Henderson (wife, Jaden), and Andrew Henderson. Nazil was the proud "Nana" to her great-grandchildren, Noah Merrill, Susan Cowart (husband, Devon), Elizabeth Merrill, Fabian Orozco, Damian Morin, Ashley Romero, Bryce and Elijah Daigle, and her great-great-granddaughter, Lily.

She was preceded in death by her sons, Wayne and Freddie; treasured sisters, Hazel and Maxine; brothers William, Gilbert, and Byron; and parents, Mack and Ethel Carr.

In addition to being a dedicated wife and mother, Nazil served as a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service, winning multiple awards during her 27 years of service. After retirement, she spent her time traveling the world with her husband and working on her many do-it-yourself interior design projects.

Nazil actively volunteered in the church and was loved by many. She was most fulfilled when entertaining her family, hosting a church gathering, or spending time with her beloved dog, Sarah. Her generous spirit, strength of character, and grace left an impression wherever she went and will forever be remembered. While Nazil's family and friends will miss her significant presence in their lives, they rejoice in knowing she is at peace.

Join the family as they celebrate her life. Visitation for Mrs. Nazil will be held Sunday, March 5, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS. Funeral Services will be held Monday, March 6, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Freeman Funeral Home. Interment will be in White House Cemetery, Waynesboro, MS. A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, March 12 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Henderson Residence, Central, LA.
