Mrs. Minnie Lee Cooley, 81, of Waynesboro, MS passed from this life Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Millry, AL on Thursday, July 31, 1941 to the late Eugene and Nora Lee Waites. She was a member of Corinth Free Will Baptist Church. She worked in quality control at the Blanket Factory in Waynesboro, MS. Mrs. Cooley is preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Nora Lee Waites; brother, Billy Waites; sister, Kathy Cranford. She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Clifford Cooley; two sons, Danny Cooley (Venessa), David Cooley (Tracy); daughter, Sheila Sharkey (Rex), all of Waynesboro, MS; brother, Harold Waites (Diane) of Millry, AL; two sisters, Betty Laton (Don) of Chatom, AL, Dot Cranford of Meridian, MS; seven grandchildren, Rashae Bagley, Colby Cooley (Allyson), Channing Cooley (Shayna), Ragan Beasley (Colby), Reid Cooley, Colton Sharkey (Layla), Savannah Sharkey; nine great grandchildren, Ryker, Charlie Kate, Beck, Talon, Maylen, Maddox, Cayden Grace, Remi, and Dylan; a host of nieces and nephews. She was known as Maw-Maw to many in the community including, Kenadi, Holdyn, and Landyn Brashier. Visitation for Mrs. Cooley will be held from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Friday, December 23, 2022 at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, December 23, 2022 at Freeman Funeral Home in Waynesboro, MS with Rev. Norman Nowell, Rev. Jarrod Vanderslice, Rev. Michael Cooley, and Rev. Randy Cooley officiating. Interment will be in Corinth Free Will Baptist Cemetery in Wayne County, MS.
