Mr. Mikell Shay Sumrall, 53, of Waynesboro, MS passed from this life Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at Walthall General Hospital in Tylertown, MS. He was born in Bay Springs, MS on Tuesday, December 26, 1972, to Prentiss Edgar Myers and Malinda Sumrall Sullivan. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. He worked as an operator for Sunland Construction.

   Mr. Sumrall is preceded in death by his father, Prentiss Edgar Myers. He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Renee McCarty Sumrall of Waynesboro, MS; mother, Malinda Sumrall Sullivan of Decatur, MS; two sons, Kyle McLaughlin (Bethanie) of Jacksonville, FL and Nathan McLaughlin (Heather) of Waynesboro, MS; two daughters, Desirae Hutto (Justin) of Waynesboro, MS and Ivy Sumrall of Laurel, MS; brother, William Myers (Carri) of Decatur, MS; two sisters, Deanna Butler (Chip) of Brandon, MS and Sonya Boswell of Newton, MS; 9 grandchildren, Kira, Maelynn, Trynity, Bryson, Brandon, Londyn, Josiah, Ricky, and Landon; a host of nieces and nephews.

   Visitation for Mr. Sumrall will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Sunday, July 26, 2026, at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS. A Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, July 27, 2026, at White House Cemetery in Waynesboro, MS with Rev. Mitchell Smith and Rev. Phillip Gandy officiating. Interment will be in White House Cemetery in Waynesboro, MS.
