Mr. Melton "Willie" Bonner, 87, of Waynesboro, MS passed from this life Friday, June 5, 2026 at his residence. He was born in Buckatunna, MS on Tuesday, August 9, 1938 to the late Melton R. Bonner and Nellie Gray McRae Bonner. He worked as an Operator at Ciba-Geigy. Mr. Bonner loved bluegrass music and found great joy in listening to it, singing it, and playing it. Mr. Bonner is preceded in death by his father, Melton R. Bonner; mother, Nellie Gray McRae Bonner; three brothers, Malcolm Bonner, David Bonner, Tommy Bonner. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Elaine Revette Bonner, two daughters, Cindy Mason (Robbie), Tracey Bonner; son, Jason Bonner (Breanna); four grandchildren, Justin Clark (Kayla), Ashton Talley (Sam), Erin Sellers (Derrick), Sophie Bonner; 11 great grandchildren, Leilah, Chris, Baylee, Malachi, Nate, Kobe, Ridge, Sylvie Kate, Laton, Kopelyn, Tuck; sisters, Sarah McNeese, Nellie Walley. Visitation for Mr. Bonner will be held from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, Monday, June 8, 2026 at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS. A Graveside Service will be held at 12:30 PM Monday, June 8, 2026 at Chason Cemetery in Wayne County, MS with Rev. John Brown officiating. Interment will be in Chason Cemetery in Wayne County, MS. Pallbearers are Justin Clark, Robbie Mason, Sam Talley, Derrick Sellers, Troy Lindsey, Wayne Walley.
