Mr. Maxie Henderson Bruce, Jr., 70, of Waynesboro, MS passed from this life Monday, August 19, 2024, at Asbury Hospice House in Hattiesburg, MS. He was born in Jackson, MS on Thursday, September 17, 1953, to Maxie Henderson Bruce, Sr. and Sara Conerly Bruce. Mr. Bruce was raised in Pinola, MS where he attended Pinola High School. He later graduated from Mississippi State University in 1975 with a bachelor's degree in Poultry Science. He moved to Waynesboro, MS where he started his career at Marshall Durbin. After meeting the love of his life Charlotte Martiniere, they were wed in holy matrimony in 1976. They decided to settle and began a family, raising four children. He later retired as a sales and service representative with Eaton Corporation. Mr. Bruce is preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte Martiniere Bruce; parents, Maxie Henderson Bruce, Sr. and Sara Conerly Bruce; sister, Melody Bruce Musgrove. He is survived by his son, Ryan Bruce (Brandy) of Hattiesburg, MS; three daughters, Stacie Bruce Scott (Will) of Houston, MS, Brooke Bruce Ward (John Robert) of Laurel, MS, Brittney Bruce McAfee (Matt) of Starkville, MS; nine grandchildren, Carter Scott, Lee Scott, Gracie Bruce, Sophie Bruce, Bayleigh Bruce, Keagan Ward, Cole Ward, Reese McAfee, and Sally McAfee. Visitation for Mr. Bruce will be held from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, Thursday, August 22, 2024, at Bridgeway Church in Waynesboro, MS. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM Thursday, August 22, 2024, at Bridgeway Church in Waynesboro, MS with Dr. DeJuan Walley and Rev. David Grayson officiating. Interment will be in Shubuta Cemetery in Clarke County, MS. Pallbearers are Chris Gandy, Frank Gandy, Brent Freeman, Brent Barry, Todd Graham, and Trey Chapman. Honorary Pallbearers are Tommy Dickerson, Ennis King, Larry Gandy, Allen Torrey, and Richard Ward.
