Mrs. Maude Ezell Pitts Draughn, 85, of Petal, MS passed from this life Thursday, December 7, 2023, at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, MS. She was born in State Line, MS on Wednesday, April 20, 1938, to the late Mark Alexander Ezell and Zuba Ezell. She worked at Sunbeam Corporation (Blanket Factory) in production, and later retired as a bus driver for the Wayne County School District. Mrs. Pitts is preceded in death by her first husband, Elmer Pitts. father, Mark Alexander Ezell; mother, Zuba Ezell; son, Larry Wayne Ezell; six brothers, Alec Ezell, Troy Ezell, Melvin Ezell, Claude Ezell, Ernest Ezell, and Clifford Ezell; sister, Lettie Mae Beasley. She is survived by her husband, Hugh Draughn of Petal, MS; four sons, Rickey Ezell of Clara, MS, David Ezell (Charlotte) of Ellisville, MS, Marcus Pitts (Genia) of Waynesboro, MS, Anthony Pitts (Shephanie) of Tylertown, MS; daughter, Cynthia Pitts Wall of Foley, AL; step son, Elmer Lee Pitts (Patti) of Janice, MS; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Visitation for Mrs. Pitts will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Saturday, December 9, 2023, at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, December 10, 2023, at Freeman Funeral Home in Waynesboro, MS with Rev. Tommy Ezell and Rev. Malcolm Nowell officiating. Interment will be in Mulberry Cemetery in Richton, MS.
