Mrs. Mattie Lee Dearmon, 95, of Millry, AL passed from this life Thursday, January 1, 2026, at Washington County Nursing Home in Chatom, AL. She was born in Millry, AL on Tuesday, February 11, 1930, to the late Willie Dora and William H. Tate. She attended Providence Community Church and Yellow Pine Baptist Church with two of her sons. She retired as a seamstress at Millry Factory. Mrs. Dearmon is preceded in death by her husband, Ellis Dearmon; parents, Willie Dora and William H. Tate; brother, Robert Tate; four sisters, Becky Craft, Mary Ella Carpenter, Ethel Mae Miller, and Maggie Lee Carpenter. She is survived by her three sons, Ellis Wayne Dearmon (Leigh) of State Line, MS, Carl Ray Dearmon, and Walter Dearmon, both of Millry, AL; daughter, Janie Neese (Darryl) of Mobile, AL; 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Visitation for Mrs. Dearmon will be held from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Monday, January 5, 2026, at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, January 5, 2026, at Freeman Funeral Home in Waynesboro, MS with Rev. Wade Turner and Rev. Tom Brown officiating. Interment will be in Pine Tree Cemetery in Millry, AL.
