Mrs. Mary M. Pitts, 76, of Waynesboro, MS passed from this life Tuesday, October 3, 2023, at Wayne General Hospital in Waynesboro, MS. She was born in Wayne County, MS on Saturday, May 24, 1947, to the late Willard and Marie Holifield. She retired as an LPN at Wayne General Hospital. Mrs. Pitts is preceded in death by her parents, Willard and Marie Holifield; sister, Alice Holifield. She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Edward Wayne Pitts of Waynesboro, MS; son, Edward Michael Pitts (Molly) of Buckatunna, MS; three daughters, Angela Marie Pitts (William) of Waynesboro, MS, Susan Genettie Spotts of Fruitdale, AL, Rachel Michelle Pitts; two brothers, Phillip Holifield (Marina), Kervin Holifield (Frances) both of Waynesboro, MS; four sisters, Sally R. Smith of Waynesboro, MS, Linda Peters, Wanda Kay Mayberry, Beth Holifield, all of Hot Springs, AR; seven grandchildren, Jacob, Sarah, Hannah, Myka, Julie, Makon and Moss. Visitation for Mrs. Pitts will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, October 5, 2023, at Freeman Funeral Home in Waynesboro, MS with Rev. Donald R. Suggs officiating. Interment will be in Arrington Cemetery in Waynesboro, MS.
