Mrs. Mary Gwendolyn Pitts, 93, of Laurel, MS passed from this life Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at Guardian Angels Hospice Center in Laurel, MS. She was born in Wayne County, MS on Sunday, April 21, 1929 to Albert Cleveland West and Mary Ellen West. She was a member of Waynesboro First Baptist Church.  She was a Homemaker. Mrs. Pitts is preceded in death by her husband, Howard Pitts; two brothers, Jimmy West, Cleo West; four sisters, Voncile Rigby, Josephine Strickland, Maurice Fleming, Inez Nelson. She is survived by her sister, Pat Hewitt, Mobile, AL; several Nieces and Nephews. Visitation for Mrs. Pitts will be held from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM, Saturday, November 26, 2022 at Freeman Funeral Home, Waynesboro, MS. A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, November 26, 2022 at West Shady Grove Cemetery in Waynesboro, MS with Rev. Phillip Gandy officiating.
