Mary Alice Overstreet (Busby), 89, of Waynesboro, MS passed away on Friday, October 15, 2021 in her home. She was married to her husband, Modlin, for 66 years and spent her life as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her father, Newt Busby; her mother, Ethel Davis Busby; her husband, Modlin "Mod" Overstreet; son, Marvin Overstreet; 3 brothers, Floyd Busby, Arthur Busby, and Lester Busby; and a sister, Myrtle Busby Harrison. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Ann Azarch (Steve); 2 brothers, Fonda Busby (Sherry) and Paul Busby; a sister, Gladys Busby McMichael; 4 grandchildren, Cassandra Overstreet, Leigh Allison Azarch, Melissa Overstreet Bonner (Allen), and Steven Bryan Azarch; 4 great-grandchildren, Chloe Miciak, Bren Bonner, Belle Bonner, and Brooke Bonner; and many loving nieces and nephews. A Visitation for Mrs. Overstreet will be held from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM, Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS. Funeral Services will follow at 10:00 AM Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at Freeman Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Stevenson officiating. Interment will be in White House Cemetery.
