Mr. Marty "Ricky" Tate, 66, of Millry, AL passed from this life Thursday, June 1, 2023 at Providence Hospital in Mobile, AL surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Butler, AL on Monday, August 20, 1956 to the late Lemuel Clarence and Velma Tate. He retired as Owner and Operator of Tate Trucking, LLC. Mr. Ricky is preceded in death by his wife, Diane Tate; parents, Lemuel Clarence and Velma Tate; son, Keith McIlwain; three brothers, Lemuel Tate, William Tate, Darvin Tate; two sisters, Ethelene Perry, Vernice Hopkins; grandson, Cole Sikes. He is survived by his daughter, Brittani Sikes (K. J.) of Millry, AL; son, Eric Copeland (Jennifer) of Silas, AL; seven grandchildren, Addisyn Sikes, Cooper Sikes, Peyton Sikes, Garrett McIlwain (Tara), Sawyer McIlwain (Taylor), Bree Phillips (Matt), Faith Copeland; 5 great grandchildren. Visitation for Mr. Ricky will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Monday, June 5, 2023 at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, June 6, 2023 with a lie-in-state from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Independent Community Church, 296 Mehaphy Road, Millry, AL 36558 with Rev. Michael Mooney and Rev. Mark Guy officiating. Interment will be in Shady Grove Cemetery in Millry, AL.
