Obituary

 Mrs. Martha E. Walley, 76, of Waynesboro, MS passed from this life Monday, May 11, 2026, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Jackson, MS on Saturday, March 4, 1950, to the late Aubrey H. and Evelyn Rone. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. She worked as a Teacher in Public Education.

 Martha was a devoted wife and mother who loved her friends and family mightily. She was a faithful Christian and vigorous prayer warrior for any and all in their time of need. She was dedicated to uplifting those she loved with phone calls and cards throughout the years, even as her own health began to decline. Martha always had a smile and kind word for everyone she met and let the light and love of Jesus show through her every day. Martha was an avid outdoorswoman who loved hunting and fishing and never missed a chance to cheer on Mississippi State University.

 Martha is preceded in death by her parents, Aubrey H. and Evelyn Rone; two infant sons. She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Charles W. Walley; son, Chris Walley, both of Waynesboro, MS; brother, James Homer Rone of Murfreesboro, TN; sister, Mary Gwyn Estes of Dallas, GA; a host of nieces and nephews; three great nephews; special friends, Jeremy and Leslie Doby, Forrest Daws, Susan Hardee, and Janis McMichael; special caregivers, Courtney Carpenter, Jeanette Simpson, Jada Bradley.

 Visitation for Martha will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Thursday, May 14, 2026, at Freeman Funeral Home, Waynesboro, MS. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, May 15, 2026, at Freeman Funeral Home in Waynesboro, MS with Rev. Phillip Gandy and Rev. Randy McLeod officiating. Interment will be in Mutual Rights Cemetery in Avera, MS.
