Mr. Luther McIlwain, 75, of Millry, AL passed from this life Wednesday, August 25, 2021, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Waynesboro, MS on Tuesday, September 4, 1945, to Homer and Lennie Jones McIlwain. Mr. Luther is preceded in death by his father, Homer McIlwain; mother, Lennie Jones McIlwain; son, Keith McIlwain; two infant sisters. He is survived by his loving wife, Rose Casey McIlwain of Millry, AL; son, John Robertson "Robb" McIlwain (Lydia) of Berlin, Germany; step son, Judson Atchison (Baillie) of Mobile, AL; step daughter, Alisha Atchison Waite (Jimmy) of Millry, AL; three brothers, Willard McIlwain (Leann), Arthur McIlwain (Connie), Teddy McIlwain all of Millry, AL; three sisters, Marvie Giles (Gene) of Millry, AL, Doris Reeves (Marthell), Louise Wise (Todd) both of Waynesboro, MS; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren. Funeral Services for Mr. Luther will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, August 29, 2021, at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS with Rev. Buddy Jones and Rev. Scott Giles officiating. Interment will be in New Bethel Cemetery in Millry, AL. The family asks everyone in attendance to please wear a mask and practice social distancing for the protection of everyone involved. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the New Bethel Cemetery fund.
