Mrs. Louise Hinton Overstreet, 87, of Biloxi, MS passed from this life Friday, September 2, 2022 at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans, LA due to complications from a massive stoke.

She was born in Wayne County, MS on Tuesday, April 9, 1935 to the late Annie and Arvis Hinton. Louise graduated from Clara High School with honors in 1954 continuing on to graduate from Mississippi Baptist Hospital Gilfoy School of Nursing with a Registered Nursing degree in 1957. She spent most of her career working as a R.N. in Labor and Delivery. She attended Handsboro United Methodist Church in Gulfport, MS where she was actively involved in church activities.

Mrs. Overstreet is preceded in death by parents, Annie and Arvis Hinton; brother, Edward Hinton; sister, Bonnie Dearman; grandson, T. J. Cooley; special friend, Sterling Daniels.

She is survived by her two daughters, Janice Dixon, Karen Stanley (Blake); son, Jay Dixon (Rhonda); five grandchildren, Megan Ross (Grant), Daniel Dixon (Kayla), Tyler Dixon (Ashley Newman), Britany Mosley, Brock Kirkwood (Dr. Montana); sister, Betty H. Davis; 8 great grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Mrs. Overstreet will be held from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, Monday, September 5, 2022 at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM Monday, September 5, 2022 at Freeman Funeral Home in Waynesboro, MS with Ricky Pittman, Rev. Dr. John M. McCay, III, and Rev. David Tennyson officiating. Interment will be in White House Cemetery in Waynesboro, MS. Pallbearers are Ron Smith, Kelton Pitts, Daniel Dixon, Tyler Dixon, Brock Kirkwood, and Grant Ross. Honorary Pallbearers are Paul Davis, Landry Smith, and Jayden Pitts.
