Mrs. Laverne Brewer, 83, of Waynesboro, MS passed from this life Thursday, February 23, 2023 at Wayne General Hospital. She was born in Mobile, AL on Monday, May 29, 1939 to Harry Cochran and Ruby Chapman Cochran. She attended Fellowship Free Will Baptist Church. She was a Homemaker. Mrs. Laverne is preceded in death by her husband, J B Brewer; father, Harry Cochran; mother, Ruby Chapman Cochran; son, Jimmie Dale Brewer; four brothers, J. D. Cochran, Marvin Cochran, Harvey Cochran, William Cochran; sister, Hazel Cochran Loper. She is survived by her son, Gerald Brewer (Christa); four daughters, Rita Brewer, Grace Mills (Danny), Fay Wells (Keith), Dianne Mills (David), all of Waynesboro, MS; two sisters, Minnie Cochran Brewer, Christine Cochran Brewer, both of Richton, MS; eight grandchildren, Lara Newman (Paul), Chris Mills (Chelsey), Stacey Reid (Jake), Nick Mills (Chasity), Brianna Smith (Cody), Justin Brewer (Rachel), Natalie Brewer, Jalyn Brewer; 11 Great Grandchildren, Kaylee Newman, Jude Mills, Allie Mills, Lucas Newman, Emmrie Waites, Annaleigh Smith, Bennett Smith, Jenson Brewer, Adalynn Mills, Hadley Smith, Lilith Reid. Visitation for Mrs. Laverne will begin at 5:30 PM, Saturday, February 25, 2023 at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, February 26, 2023 at Freeman Funeral Home with Rev. Floyd Mills and Rev. Jarrod Vanderslice officiating. Interment will be in J B Brewer Family Cemetery in Waynesboro, MS. Pallbearers are Danny Mills, Chris Mills, Nick Mills, Justin Brewer, Paul Newman, David Mills, Keith Wells.
