Mrs. LaFaye "Faye" Hester, 88, of Millry, AL passed from this life Saturday, January 27, 2024, at Brookwood Villa Personal Care Home in Waynesboro, MS. She was born in Millry, AL on Tuesday, July 16, 1935, to the late George Ollie Tew, Sr. and Vernelle Tew. She was a member of North Oak Grove Baptist Church.

Mrs. Hester is preceded in death by her husband, Rex A. Hester; parents, George Ollie Tew, Sr. and Vernelle Tew; six brothers, George Ollie Tew, Jr., William M. Tew, Jimmy Tew, Harold Ray Tew, Prentice A. Tew, Clatis Tew, Sr.; two sisters, Maxine Brown, Juanita Tew. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Johnson (Mackie) of Millry, AL; two brothers, Delmar Tew of Chatom, AL, Walter C. "Tee" Tew (Peggy) of Millry, AL; sister, Annie Pearl Gant; Sister-In-Law, Diane Tew; four grandchildren, Jason Johnson (Tonia), Marcia Coaker (Brian), all of Millry, AL; Hollie Long (Phillip) of Gilbertown, AL, Jared Johnson (Kimberly) of Millry, AL; nine great grandchildren, Annah Whigham (Jordan), Kaleb Long (Makala), Christian Long, Zachary Coaker, Andrew Johnson, Brantley Johnson, Adalyn Johnson, Dalton Denney, and Brayden Denney; two great-great grandchildren, Ryker Long and Bentley Whigham; a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Mrs. Hester will be held from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at North Oak Grove Baptist Church, Millry, AL. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at North Oak Grove Baptist Church in Millry, AL with Rev. Ken Beasley and Rev. Ronnie Morris officiating. Interment will be in North Oak Grove Cemetery in Washington County, AL. Pallbearers are Kaleb Long, Jordan Whigham, Christian Long, Zachary Coaker, Andrew Johnson, and Brantley Johnson.
