Mr. Johnny Edward Shoemaker, 67, of Waynesboro, MS passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer, now receiving his ultimate healing in the presence of the Lord on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at Wayne General Hospital in Waynesboro, MS. He was born in Waynesboro, MS on Wednesday, August 22, 1956, to the late Roy and Roberta Shoemaker. He was a member of Corinth Free Will Baptist Church. He retired as a Heavy Equipment Operator for Maverick Construction.

Johnny was a man of deep faith, whose love for the Lord and his family defined his life. He was a hardworking man, Johnny dedicated himself to providing for his wife and loved ones and lived his life with integrity and diligence. He found his greatest joy outdoors, where he could often be found fishing, hunting, and enjoying God's creations. His strength and perseverance were evident in his fight against cancer, a battle he faced with remarkable courage and grace. His unwavering faith provided comfort and inspiration to all who knew him. Johnny leaves behind a family who adored him and will forever cherish his memory. Johnny's legacy is one of love, faith, and hard work. He will be remembered for his gentle spirit, steadfast devotion, and the joy he brought to those around him.

Mr. Shoemaker is preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Roberta Shoemaker; brother, Leroy Shoemaker. He is survived by his loving wife of 14 years, Debora "Debbie" Shoemaker of Waynesboro, MS; two sons, Randy Harper, Lee Shoemaker, both of Quitman, MS; daughter, LaBreeska Atkinson (Sam) of Sylvester, GA; two sisters, Barbara Broadway of Laurel, MS, Shirley Hazelwood of Waynesboro, MS; 5 grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Mr. Shoemaker will be held from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Friday, July 5, 2024, at Corinth Free Will Baptist Church, 2426 Camp Eight Road, Waynesboro, MS 39367. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, July 5, 2024, at Corinth Free Will Baptist Church in Waynesboro, MS with Rev. Ronald Nowell, Rev. Jarrod Vanderslice, and Rev. Larry Reynolds officiating. Interment will be in Corinth Free Will Baptist Cemetery in Wayne County, MS.
