Mr. John Percy Williams, 79, of Waynesboro, MS passed from this life Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at Pine View Health and Rehabilitation in Waynesboro, MS. He was born in Strengthford, MS on Thursday, April 13, 1944, to the late Joseph "Joe" and Ruthie Williams. He was a member of Free Will Fellowship Church. He retired as a roustabout for T. K. Stanley Inc. Mr. Williams is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph "Joe" and Ruthie Williams; three brothers, Bobby Williams, Wayne Williams, Clarence Williams; five sisters, Mary Lou McLain, Patsy Crabtree, Jean Bunch, Dorothy Davis, Clara Jean Shirley. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Zelline "Dolly" Williams of Waynesboro, MS; son, Percy Len Williams (Karen) of Semmes, AL; daughter, Vanessa Ann McCarty (Craig) of Waynesboro, MS; five grandchildren, Ryan (Megan), Logan, Jonathan, Matt (Joslin), and Bridgette; nine great grandchildren. Visitation for Mr. Williams will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Thursday, August 17, 2023, at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM Friday, August 18, 2023, at Freeman Funeral Home in Waynesboro, MS with Rev. Harry Cherry, Rev. Hugh Cherry, and Rev. Ryan Powers officiating. Interment will be in Lee's Chapel Cemetery in Waynesboro, MS.
