Mrs. Joan Davis, 85, of Hiwannee, MS was welcomed into Heaven's gates on June 30, 2023 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Ellisville, MS on October 19, 1937 to the late James Vester Cooksey and the late Dollie Rhoda Hester Morris. She was a charter member of Riverside Baptist Church. She retired from Wayne General Hospital after 34 years of dedicated service. Mrs. Davis is preceded in death by the love of her life of 59 years, GB Davis; and one brother, Larry Cooksey. She is survived by one son, Tony (JoAnn) Davis of Hiwannee, MS; three daughters, Cathy (David) Maroney of Hiwannee, MS, Lynn (Bobby) Noland of Sweet Water, AL, Martha (Guy) DeSantis of Frannie, WY; two brothers, Jerry Andrews of Theodore, AL and Carol Cooksey of Waynesboro, MS; two sisters, Janice McMahan of Pascagoula, MS and Judy (Willie) Branning of Maryville, TN; ten grandchildren, Keith Maroney, Brandy Smith, Brandy Turner, Randi Stewart, Matthew Burnett, Jeremy Noland, Robert Noland, Gregory Noland, Nyla DeSantis, Natasha DeSantis; and 23 Great Grandchildren. Visitation for Mrs. Joan will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Sunday, July 2, 2023 at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, July 3, 2023 at Freeman Funeral Home with Rev. Bo Farrior and Rev. Ron Stanley officiating. Interment will be in West Shady Grove Cemetery.
