Mr. Jimmy G. "Jim" Whatley, 75, of Laurel, MS passed from this life Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at his residence. He was born in Waynesboro, MS on Tuesday, April 4, 1950, to the late George A. and June Reynolds Whatley. He was a founding member of Pineview Baptist Church. He retired as owner of Ranger Wireline Service. Mr. Whatley is preceded in death by his parents, George A. and June Reynolds Whatley; Daughter-In-Law, Heather Ford Whatley; brother, Jack Milton Whatley. He is survived by his daughter, Maria Whatley Tidwell; son, James Clint Whatley both of Laurel, MS; brother, Bill Whatley (Connie) of Buckatunna, MS; four grandchildren, Brennan Whatley, Mollie Moore (Garrett), Jackson Whatley, and Maggie Sue Jones (Brice); 4 great grandchildren; Mother of Children, Sue Miller. Visitation for Mr. Whatley will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Thursday, September 4, 2025, at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS. A Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, September 5, 2025, at Evergreen Cemetery in Shubuta, MS with Rev. Robby Johnson officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Shubuta, MS. Pallbearers are Brennan Whatley, Garrett Moore, Jackson Whatley, Brice Jones, Austin Brown, and Chaise Whatley.
