Jimmie Rea (Dew) Boyles's Obituary

Mrs. Jimmie Rea Dew Boyles was born in a rail car on November 20, 1934, in Wayne County, Mississippi to John and Ethilea Dew. She passed from this life on March 4, 2022, at Brookwood Villa in Waynesboro, Mississippi at the age of 87 years old. She married Cecil Boyles on February 20, 1954, and they were married for 65 years until his death in 2019.

As a young woman, Mrs. Boyles worked at S.H. Kress Department Store in downtown Laurel, Mississippi. She was a "room mother" at Beat Four Elementary School for several years. Mrs. Boyles was a devoted member of Grace Baptist Church in Jones County for many years where she taught Bible School, Sunday School, and served on many committees. She and her husband were active members of the Magnolia State Bluegrass Association, and they hosted the organization's annual festival each summer for years. Mrs. Boyles was a homemaker who took great pride in caring for her family and her farm.

Mrs. Boyles is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Michael and Nita Boyles; two grandchildren Zachary (Sarah) Boyles of Montgomery, Texas, and Megan (Adam) Roberts of Waynesboro, Mississippi; and two great-grandchildren Connor Boyles and Emily Boyles of Montgomery, Texas. She is also survived by her brothers Bill (Judy) Dew of Waynesboro, Mississippi, and Ray (Bonnie) Dew of Laurel, Mississippi as well as a host of nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Mrs. Boyles is preceded in death by her parents, husband Cecil, sisters Johnnie Tucker and Faye Mills, brothers Ralph Dew and Thomas Dew, and niece Kathy Dew.

Visitation for Mrs. Boyles will be held from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, Sunday, March 13, 2022 at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, March 13, 2022 at Freeman Funeral Home with Rev. Chris Hodge officiating. Interment will be in Boyles Chapel Cemetery in Waynesboro, MS. Pallbearers are Nathan Dew, Ronnie Mills, Tommy Mills, Don Tucker, Preston Tucker, and Justin Tucker.
