Mr. Jesse "Duke" Crager, 72, of Chatom, AL passed from this life Saturday, October 26, 2024, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born in State Line, MS on Sunday, August 24, 1952, to the late D. J. and Dean Crager. He was a member of New Haven Missionary Baptist Church. He retired as owner and operator of Crager Brothers Logging and J&E Scrap.

Mr. Crager is preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn "Chick" Crager; parents, D. J. and Dean Crager; brother, Malcolm Eugene Crager. He is survived by his two sons, Jason Crager (Terra) of Chatom, AL and Elliot Crager (Nikki) of Waynesboro, MS; brother, Mitchell Crager (Michelle) of Chatom, AL; three sisters, Diane Williams (Jim) of Fruitdale, AL, Betty Vann (John), and Karen Henderson (Billy), both of Chatom, AL; five grandchildren, Jaxon Tiner, Graham Tiner, Logan Crager, Makayia Crager, and Eastyn Crager.

Visitation for Mr. Crager will be held from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at Freeman Funeral Home in Waynesboro, MS with Rev. Lamar Loper and Rev. James Saucier, Jr. officiating. Interment will be in New Haven Cemetery in Millry, AL.
