Mr. Jerry Allen Holifield, 71, of Laurel, MS passed from this life Sunday, December 22, 2024, at Asbury Hospice House in Hattiesburg, MS. He was born in Waynesboro, MS on Tuesday, July 14, 1953, to the late Charlie James Holifield and Pauline Kay Holifield. He retired as a self-employed truck driver. Mr. Holifield is preceded in death by his parents, Charlie James Holifield and Pauline Kay Holifield; son, Eric Holifield; brother, Wayne Holifield; three sisters, Sarah Jean Holland, Charlene Rowells, and Sandra Rowland. He is survived by three sons, Kris Holifield of Soso, MS, Jeremy McIlwain, and Mitchell Hartley, both of Waynesboro, MS; four daughters, Tanya Lanell Sullivan of Carthage, MS, Kayla Holifield of Grand Bay, AL, Paige Runnels, and Katlyn McIlwain, both of Waynesboro, MS; four brothers, Charles Holifield of Baton Rouge, LA, Benny Holifield, Roger Holifield, and Ricky Holifield, all of Waynesboro, MS; two sisters, Pat Odom and Lavern Hudson, both of Waynesboro, MS; special niece, Kristy; a host of grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Visitation for Mr. Holifield will be held from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Thursday, December 26, 2024, at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, December 26, 2024, at Freeman Funeral Home in Waynesboro, MS with Rev. Glenn Sullivan officiating. Interment will be in Waynesboro Cemetery in Waynesboro, MS.
