Mr. Jerry Wayne Harvey, 75, of Waynesboro, MS passed from this life Saturday, June 29, 2024, at his residence in Waynesboro, MS. He was born in Jackson, MS on Monday, January 3, 1949, to the late Woodrow Wilson "Wood" and Ella Marie (Sullivan) Harvey. Mr. Harvey served in the United States Army and retired as a Technical Sergeant United States Airforce. He was a Veteran of the Vietnam War, Operation Noble Eagle, Enduring Freedom, and Gulf War. He attended West Shady Grove Baptist Church.

Mr. Harvey is preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow Wilson "Wood" and Ella Marie (Sullivan) Harvey; first wife, Patricia Ann (Langley) Harvey. He is survived by his wife, Virginia Ann Harvey of Waynesboro, MS; five children, Michael Harvey of Pelahatchie, MS, Christina Strickland of Pascagoula, MS, James Suthoff of Brandon, MS, Jo Ann Suthoff of Waynesboro, MS, Lynn Simmons of New Albany, MS; 17 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren.

Visitation for Mr. Harvey will be held from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM with a lie-in-state from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at West Shady Grove Baptist Church in Waynesboro, MS with Dr. Stephen Smith officiating. Interment will be in West Shady Grove Cemetery in Waynesboro, MS. Pallbearers are Michael Harvey, James Suthoff, Jacob Harvey, Elijah Jayroe, Tanner Simmons, and Anthony Strickland. Honorary Pallbearers are Lee Blackwell, Jr., Lee Blackwell, III, Marcus Hardin, Jimmy Pittman, and Clint Peoples.
