Mrs. Janet Pitts, 79, of Waynesboro, MS passed from this life Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at her residence. She was born in Vinegar Bend, AL on Sunday, March 7, 1943 to Troy Williams and Evon Williams. She was a member of Corinth Free Will Baptist Church. She had worked as a Quality Control Inspector at Sunbeam Corporation. Mrs. Janet is preceded in death by her husband, Elton L. Pitts, Sr.; father, Troy Williams; mother, Evon Williams; two brothers, Albert Troy Williams, Tony Williams; sister, Stacy Smith. She is survived by her son, Elton Lamar Pitts, Jr., Waynesboro, MS; daughter, Vickie Morris, Waynesboro, MS; three sisters, Johnie Bruce, Satsuma, AL, Shawn Robinson, Baton Rouge, LA, Shannon Slay, Waynesboro, MS; two grandchildren, Robert Morris, Waynesboro, MS, Jana Smith (Johnny), Waynesboro, MS; great grandchild, Kyler Smith, Waynesboro, MS. Visitation for Mrs. Janet will be held from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Friday, April 29, 2022 at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, April 30, 2022 with a Lie-In-State from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at at Corinth Freewill Baptist Church in Wayne County, MS with Rev. Ronald Nowell officiating. Interment will be in Mulberry Cemetery in Wayne County, MS. Pallbearers are Shane Smith, Jay Holifield, Montana Hovatter, Allen Reed, Tyler Slay, Tony Slay.
