Mr. James "Jim" Murphy, 66, of Aquilla, AL passed from this life Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at his residence. He was born in Waynesboro, MS on Saturday, May 26, 1956 to the late Roy Murphy, Sr. and Audrey Nell Murphy. He was a devoted member of Abundant Life Church where he also served as an Assistant Pastor. He was retired from Georgia-Pacific. Mr. Murphy is preceded in death by his parents, Roy Murphy, Sr. and Audrey Nell Murphy; brother, Roy "Pete" Murphy, Jr. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Donna L. Murphy of Aquilla, AL; brother, Floyd Murphy (Wanda) of Tillmans Corner, AL; two sisters, Loucinda Thompson of Hemet, CA, Nellie Smith (Phillip) of Mount Vernon, AL. Visitation for Mr. Murphy will be held from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Saturday, May 6, 2023 at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, May 6, 2023 at Freeman Funeral Home in Waynesboro, MS with Dr. Andy Olson officiating. Interment will be in Aquilla Cemetery in Aquilla, AL. Pallbearers are Scottie Lucas, Trevor Lucas, Scott Carlisle, Curtis Toomey, James Franks, and Horace Turner.
