Mr. James Ray Johnson, 87, of Waynesboro, MS passed from this life Saturday, January 13, 2024, at his residence with his daughter and Son-In-Law by his side. He was born in Atmore, AL on Thursday, January 30, 1936, to the late James Marvin and Burlie Johnson. He retired as a box maker for Mississippi Fine Products.

Mr. Johnson is preceded in death by his wife, Laura G. Johnson; parents, James Marvin and Burlie Johnson; two sons, Keith Ray Johnson, Ricky Johnson; two brothers, Robert Johnson, Fred Johnson; four sisters, Frances Barber, Clementine Carroway, Doris McNeil, Lucille Cossley; Son-In-Law, Juston Waites. He is survived by his three daughters, Laetreta Johnson Waites, Debbie Richards (Steven), Marticia Holifield (Randy), all of Waynesboro, MS; sister, Olga Barton of Summerdale, AL; ten grandchildren, Ray Ray, Clifton, Kevin, Kayla, Bethany, Amanda, Krystal, Dustin, Chasity, and Hunter; a host of great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Visitation for Mr. Johnson will be held from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Monday, January 15, 2024, at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, January 15, 2024, at Freeman Funeral Home in Waynesboro, MS with Rev. Ronnie Morris officiating. Interment will be in Shirley Place Cemetery in Wayne County, MS.
