Mr. James E. "Jim" Waites, 75, of Waynesboro, MS passed from this life Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at the State Veterans Home in Collins. He was born in Waynesboro on Wednesday, March 24, 1948 to James William Waites and Zera Lola Waites. He retired as a Truck Driver. Mr. Waites is preceded in death by father, James William Waites; mother, Zera Lola Waites. He is survived by his wife, Sheba Waites, Waynesboro, MS; daughter, Kim Black (Eric), Ellisville, MS; brother, James R. "Buster" Waites, Waynesboro, MS; sister, Edna Jane Buckley (Moose), Waynesboro, MS; granddaughter, Erica Pilgrim (Ronnie), Ellisville, MS; great grandson, Drew Pilgrim.  Visitation for Mr. Waites will be held from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Friday, May 12, 2023 at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, May 12, 2023 at Freeman Funeral Home with Rev. Chris Cooper officiating. Interment will be in West Family Cemetery in Waynesboro, MS. Pallbearers are Chris Cochran, Lamar Beasley, Lonnie Bunch, Kenneth Beasley, Kenneth McCurley, Brent Graham.
