Mr. James Paul Blue, 81, of Laurel, MS passed from this life Monday, February 2, 2026, at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, MS. He was born in Laurel, MS on Monday, February 21, 1944, to the late Nora and Andrew Blue. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. He retired as a Sergeant 1st Class out of the United States Army. Mr. Blue is preceded in death by his first wife, Selma Blue; parents, Nora and Andrew Blue; three sons, James Blue, Robert Blue, and Andrew Blue; three brothers, Delynn Blue, Jerry Blue, and Charles Blue; sister, Joan Byrd. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Hinton Blue; son, Edwin Blue (Tina), all of Laurel, MS; three daughters, Lisa Williams (Curtis) of Ellisville, MS, Lisa Beaujean (Andy) and Janet Dail (Michael), all of North Carolina; 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Visitation for Mr. Blue will be held from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Friday, February 6, 2026, at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, February 6, 2026, at Freeman Funeral Home in Waynesboro, MS with Rev. Scott Hilton officiating. Interment will be in Blackledge Cemetery in Jones County, MS.
