Mr. Horace Steve Gandy, 69, of Waynesboro, MS passed from this life Saturday, February 24, 2024, at Providence Hospital in Mobile, AL. He was born in Waynesboro, MS on Wednesday, April 14, 1954, to the late J. C. and Mary Gandy. He was a member of Bethlehem Holiness Church. He retired as an offshore cook in the Oil Field. Mr. Gandy is preceded in death by his parents, J. C. and Mary Gandy; sister, Evelyn Taylor; nephew, Brian Hollingshead; two great nieces, Monty Earl and Stacie Abston. He is survived by his son, Kevin Gandy (Melisa); grandson, Justin Aaron (Katelynn Rowell); granddaughter, Kim Aaron (Stephen Hand); nine great grandchildren, Annah Austin, Dylin Burkeen, Lane Aaron, Chance Aaron, Brayden Parker, Bryleigh Daniels, Brennan Rowell, Bridgette Rowell, and Jaylan Hand; sister, Hester Evans; three nieces, Linda Abston, Daphyne Andrews (James), and Tammy Bustos (Alex); nephew, David Beasley (Janice); six great nieces and nephews, Jana McLain (Chris), Jalin Beasley, Kasey Andrews, J.J. Abston, Jonathan Earl, and Jacob Earl; two great-great nieces, Jasey McIlwain and Pacely McIlwain; great-great nephew, Bentley McIlwain. A Visitation for Mr. Gandy will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS. A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at Pleasant Grove Methodist Cemetery in Waynesboro, MS with Rev. Michael Boutwell officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant Grove Methodist Cemetery in Wayne County, MS.
