Mrs. Hattie B. McRae, 96, of Waynesboro, MS passed from this life Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at her residence. She was born in Jones County, MS on Thursday, September 8, 1927, to the late John Andrew Wesley Lowrey and Margaret Annie Lowrey. She was a member of First Winchester Church. She retired as a bank teller at First State Bank. Mrs. McRae is preceded in death by her husband, Reginald Dewey McRae; parents, John Andrew Wesley Lowrey and Margaret Annie Lowrey; daughter, Gloria Jean McRae; three brothers, John Buford Broadhead, James Bennett Broadhead, Thomas Alexander Lowrey; four sisters, Ann L. Johnson, Ora Mae Lowrey, Julia Elizabeth Byrd, Mary Jane Lowrey. She is survived by her devoted friend and care giver, Darlene Evans of Waynesboro, MS; a host nieces and nephews. A Graveside Service for Mrs. McRae will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, September 15, 2023, at Winchester Cemetery in Waynesboro, MS with Rev. Tom Walker officiating. Interment will be in Winchester Cemetery in Waynesboro, MS.
