Rev. Harry E. "Pop" Cherry, 77, of Waynesboro, MS passed from this life Sunday, January 12, 2025, at Asbury Hospice House in Hattiesburg, MS. He was born in Pine Bluff, AR on Friday, November 7, 1947, to the late Hugh James Cherry and Attie Lois Cherry. He was a member of Free Will Fellowship Church, where he served as Pastor for 15 years.

Rev. Cherry is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Alene Cherry; parents, Attie and Hugh Cherry; son, Joseph Cherry; 7 brothers; 6 sisters. He is survived by two sons, Elton Cherry (Maurice "Daisy") of Katy, TX and Hugh Cherry (Diane) of Clara, MS; brother, Harold Cherry of Waynesboro, MS; six grandchildren, Austin Cherry, Chance Cherry, Caleb Cherry, Cody Beasley, Mandy Hair, and Dianna Blackledge; ten great grandchildren, Rowyn, Lexie, Brooke, Ava, Ana, Cade, Chase, Emily, Charlotte, and Lilly.

Visitation for Rev. Cherry will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at Freeman Funeral Home in Waynesboro, MS with Rev. Billy Trull and Rev. Larry Reynolds officiating. Interment will be in Serenity Gardens Cemetery in Waynesboro, MS.
