Mr. Harold "Coon" McLain, 89, of Strengthford, MS passed from this life Friday, September 3, 2021 at his residence. He was born in Wayne County on Wednesday, October 14, 1931 to Ellis McLain and Clyda Mae Overstreet McLain. He was a member of McLain Chapel Assembly of God Church. He retired from road and bridge construction after working many years as a Heavy Equipment Operator.

Mr. McLain is preceded in death by his father, Ellis McLain and mother, Clyda Mae McLain; step-mother, Louise McLain; five brothers, Herbert McLain, John McLain, E. L. "Toby" McLain, Dion McLain, Bud McLain; three sisters, Sally Whitehead, Gennieve Taylor, Lynette Craven. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Frankie Zell McLain, Strengthford, MS; son, Bryan McLain (Helen), Strengthford, MS; four daughters, Peggy Crow (David), Strengthford, MS, Betty Holder (Tony), Laurel, MS, Sandra McLain, Strengthford, MS, Elizabeth Andrews (Michael Jay), Strengthford, MS; two brothers, Jim Buddy McLain, Frederick, MD, Lonnie McLain, Strengthford, MS; four sisters, Sarah Hendry, Anne Freeman, Brenda Cochran, Yvonne Smith, all of Strengthford, MS; 13 Grandchildren, 21 Great Grandchildren and a host of Nieces and Nephews.

Visitation for Mr. McLain will be held from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at McLain Chapel Assembly of God Church, 698 Strengthford Cooley Road, Waynesboro, MS. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at McLain Chapel Assembly of God Church with Rev. Phillip Jenkins and Rev. Aaron Cooley officiating. Interment will be in McLain Chapel Cemetery.
