He served in the Army National Guard for 6 years and worked in the oilfield for over 40 years, spending a many a hitch in the Gulf of Mexico, India, Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam and land rigs all over West Texas, Louisiana & Oklahoma.  He also spent many summers umpiring girls softball in our little town of Waynesboro.  The girls knew his strike calls, especially his " Yep, that's in there, that's one of them". He enjoyed traveling, road tripping, cruising with his best friend, meeting people and college football, especially the SEC & LSU. Geaux Tigers! To know him was to absolutely love him and if you were lucky to have him as a friend, you had a friend for life. He was by far the best husband, daddy, Pop, Paw Paw and friend that anyone could ask for and to his family, he was a true treasure. During the last week of his life, he was surrounded by his loving family and friends that had been there the last few years of his life while he battled Alzheimer's. The family plans to have a private memorial service at a later date. Fly high "Happy" we love you and you will forever be missed!!!
