Mrs. Gladys Jewel McCarty, 92, of Waynesboro, MS passed from this life Monday, November 3, 2025, at South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel, MS. She was born in Millry, AL on Tuesday, June 20, 1933, to the late William and Alice Daugherty. She was a member of Little Rock Assembly of God Church. She worked as a seamstress at Wells Lamont. Mrs. McCarty is preceded in death by her parents, William and Alice Daugherty; four sisters, Viola Waites, Elsie Hollingshead, Leona White, and Betty Hudson. She is survived by her loving husband of 69 years, Travis McCarty; two daughters, Rita Lofton (DeWayne) and Renee McCarty; two sisters, Kathleen McInnis (James) and Sarah Dobby (Bob), all of Waynesboro, MS; two grandchildren, Randall Lofton (Kaitlyn) and Katrina Busby (Justin); nine great grandchildren, Lylan, Jayke, Kolston "Mac", Beckett, Stella, Daughtry, Tevin, Dayten, and Karra Rae; Brother-In-Law, Clifford McCarty. Visitation for Mrs. McCarty will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at Little Rock Assembly of God Church in Waynesboro, MS. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, November 6, 2025, at Little Rock Assembly of God Church in Waynesboro, MS with Rev. Ryan Powers, Rev. Steven Ray Perry, and Rev. Douglas R. Chapman officiating. Interment will be in Little Rock Cemetery in Waynesboro, MS.
