Mr. Gerald Louie Canady, 89, of Waynesboro, MS passed from this life Saturday, May 21, 2022 at Wayne General Hospital. He was born in Waynesboro, MS on Tuesday, December 6, 1932 to Joe Canady and Nellie Rainwater Canady. Mr. Canady was a Christian man who devoted his life to The Lord. He served in the United States Air Force from 1953-1957. He retired as an Operator at Occidental Chemical Corporation in Taft, LA. Mr. Canady is preceded in death by his father, Joe Canady; mother, Nellie Rainwater Canady; wife, Edna Pearl Boykin Canady; sister, Katherine Canady; brother, L. H. Canady. He is survived by his two sons, Gerald A. Canady (Mary Jo), Waynesboro, MS, Michael L. Canady (Diana), Fairhope, AL; three grandchildren, Melissa A. Dufrene (Darrell), Waynesboro, MS, Jennifer A. Lauritsen (Nicholas), Harahan, LA, Jeffrey A. Canady, Westwego, LA; six great grandchildren, Drake W. Dufrene (October), Nicholas A. Lauritsen, Joshua B. Lauritsen, Teghan J. Lauritsen, Brock A. Dufrene, Ryenne M. Lauritsen, a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and other family. Visitation for Mr. Canady will be held from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, Saturday, May 28, 2022 at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS. Burial will be held at 12:30 PM Saturday, May 28, 2022 at Antioch Assembly of God Cemetery in Waynesboro, MS.
